Millwall boss Neil Harris will be looking for an instant and positive reaction from his players after they suffered a battering 5-1 loss to free scoring Peterborough on Tuesday night. The loss was Millwall's first defeat of the season and Harris was critical of his players after the defeat. This was the second season in a row they have conceded five goals at ABAX Stadium so London Road isn't a place Millwall enjoy visiting. Despite the heavy defeat I have no quals about backing The Lions for a home win because prior to the blip at Peterborough in midweek, Millwall had won two and drawn the other match of their opening three fixtures this season and scored nine goals in the process.


The same cannot be said about Saturday's opponents Sheffield United who have yet to record a victory this season, and have not won a competitive League or Cup match in seven games. A most recent 0-3 home humiliation was the latest shock at Bramall Lane. United were 0-3 down at half time so confidence won't be at its highest this weekend.


Neil Harris will check on the fitness of a number of players before the League One clash with Sheffield United this weekend. Shaun Williams missed the 5-1 defeat at Peterborough on Tuesday night after receiving a blow to the head in the 2-2 draw at MK Dons at the weekend. David Worrall was left on the bench at ABAX Stadium as he had a tight hamstring. Shaun Hutchinson also looked like he suffered a reoccurrence of his hamstring injury minutes entering the fray to make his competitive debut.


Chris Wilder has threatened to wield the axe ahead of this weekend’s visit to Millwall. Wilder has signed eight new players since taking charge of United in May but has yet to see anything positive from a side tipped as favourites for the league 1 title. New signing, Simon Moore is expected to go straight into the team in goal after signing yesterday. Many of The Blades players have called for my passion and desire over the technical aspect of the game which tells me they have mental issues in coping with this division. With mental frailties clearly evident, The Den is the last place a side wants to be going to so I have grave concerns for a Sheffield United side struggling for form.


Harris' charges, who have won two of the their last three matches against Wilder's United. I expect the London side to record a home win over a side over rated and struggling to come to terms with being a scalp for most sides in the division.

This could be shock of the round when promotion contender LeHavre is hosting relegated from Ligue 1 Troyes. So far, even they won 7 points after 3 games, LeHavre shown a lot of weakness and seem not to be at their full potential. After luckily won against Laval, with Farnolle keeping alive LeHavre in second half, against GFC Ajaccio, LeHavre had little inspiration moments. After a start of the game dominated by GFC Ajaccio they had a lethal counter, Gimbert receiving a good ball and converted in goal easily. A defensive placement error by GFC Ajaccio was easily speculated by experimented LeHavre players. Weren’t too many phases to both goals and the game seemed to end to another 1-0 win for LeHavre. But with 20 mins to go Ayasse had an unfortunate large taking of the ball while Court steal it and gave a nice assist to Tshimbubu who leveled 1-1. Was a fair draw till the end, between two top teams from Ligue 2.


Finally, Troyes came to life after their first win of the season 1-0 over Laval. As I expected Laval came at Troyes to steal a point, fielding a defensive team – nothing new. But Troyes made a very good first half and succeeded to take first win thanks to a goal scored after 20 minutes of play by captain Nivet. Troyes’ talisman Nivet (almost 40 years) made an excellent game, scoring the goal (a header after a left side cross of Dingome) and giving a lot of finest passes to their fellows. After the break Troyes seemed to tired and Laval took the control of the game. But without any luck despite they’ve created a lot of opportunities to score. Troyes replied through some counterattacks but any of team weren’t able to modify once again the table. Remained 1-0 for Troyes and maybe the real start of the season for Troyes? Let’s hope.


At a first glance this look as 1. But I am not convinced yet about LeHavre. I remember in previous season they had problems against top team. And don’t let fooled about bad start of the season Troyes had; I am pretty sure, soon they will be a team who will climb in the table and why not will be involved in promotion race. Fluminense come into this one without a win in 3. It must be said that they avoided defeat in each of those but for certain, Its about time they find their scoring boots and winning mindset or they face battle of the drop as the season runs in. They are 11th as it is, scoring just 6 and conceding 6 in 7 games played with their two wins being against Newly promoted sides in America MG n Botafogo all by 1-0 scoreline. Their last game was a 1-1 draw with Gremio and they would to at least get another point here too.


Corinthians lost out in the derby with Palmerias being their last game by a 1-0 scoreline. They game was evenly contested and quite a few number of clear cut chances n a handful of half chance. In all, Palmerias made their home advantage count by winning 1-0 via substitute Xavier Cleiton who came in few minutes before scoring the goal in the 48th minute. That ended the visitors' run of 4 straight wins and today, I expect them to get back to winning ways as they ve surrendered top spot to Inter and come into this game on 4th; 3 points behind Inter.


Corinthians hardly play for the draws so If they gain an first half lead in this game, then they would cover this handicap but In all, I think they would get back their title push on track here with a win. A win by at least a couple of goals my pred. GL!

Atalanta are in a tough period at the moment with no wins in their last 8 matches, last round they became the first team to lose against Hellas Verona in a 2-1 defeat.

Arsenal will be looking to turn around their fortunes that have been struggling in the Premier League taking 3 points from a possible 12; with them not scoring in any of their last 3 games. With the return of Alexis Sanchez and Walcott on the wings, the team should be in a good state now to give this good pace to Giroud and Ozil to find players to attack the goal. Wind the clock back to earlier in the season against Manchester United when Ozil, Walcott and Sanchez destroyed Man Utd with 3 goals in 19 minutes; they did so with the pace and creativity of those 3; which is something they need to bring back. They conceded one goal due to the red card against Chelsea, but have been good defensively otherwise.


Bournemouth had made a good transfer in the winter window signing Benik Afobe who has now scored in each of his last 3 games, and has helped Bournemouth win 2 out of those 3 games. Defensively Bournemouth still have a lot to improve as they have conceded in each of their last 3 games, which might give Arsenal all the confidence they need to go and get a goal. Those string of wins got Bournemouth out of the jailhouse and into 15th spot, 7 points ahead of safety, showcasing their good performances. Bournemouth have put on better performance at home rather than away, grabbing 8 out of their last 15 points at home.


Arsenal will be extremely motivated to put on a victory as it has gotten out of the race from 3rd spot and also the title, and slipped them all the way to 4th position. A victory is required before they play 3 challenging games in Leicester, Barcelona and Manchester United; so I expect them to turn around their fortunes and put out a solid victory. Galatasaray vs Bursaspor

The coaching change did not brought winning results for Galatasaray. Another draw to the league, this time away to Kasimpasa (2:2) kept them seven points far from the top of the league. For one more game they looked like tired to the last twenty minutes while the defensive gaps where again visible.

Generally Galatasaray is in a very mediocre period as their last win to the league was back to 29 of October where they won against Eskisehir 4:0. Since then in five games in the league and the Champions League, they have no victory, counting two draws in the league. Now they need to seek immediate results for the title race, given the fact that Galatasaray left behind. A difference of two or three wins is surely not a big problem, I guess they can easily reverse the situation starting from today. Bursaspor disappointed in the closed-door match against Kayserispor. They lost 2-1 having problems both in the attack and in defense. This result brought news, as the coach was sacked and their board is now seeking a new coach.

Of course the climate generally is not good for the visitors. The issue is not only the coach, as this week was written that there are debts more than 88 millions and the club did not denied those rumours, while four members of the team already retired recently. Europa League preview – Liverpool vs Bordeaux prediction

Philippe Coutinho tweaked a hamstring against Manchester City on Saturday which could see Liverpool revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation with Roberto Firmino playing in the trio behind Christian Benteke. Daniel Sturridge is ready to play and may feature at some point. Jordan Rossiter is closer to a return but won’t be part of the plans for this game while Jordan Henderson hopes to make his come back from a metatarsal injury early next month.

Bordeaux forward Thomas Toure came on as sub against Rennes at the weekend following a two week absence. The 21-year-old played for just 19 minutes before being withdrawn from the contest and is unlikely to travel to Merseyside this week. Long term absentees Gaetan Labourde and Gregory Sertic will also be staying at home.

Prediction

Liverpool will qualify for the knockout stages if they can chalk up their second win in Group B. A draw or defeat could mean them needing a result at group leaders FC Sion in the  final match. The Reds are undefeated in four group games but have struggled to impose themselves, settling for three draws including the 1-1 stalemate in the reverse fixture. The Merseysiders will be on a high following their 4-1 rout of Manchester City at the weekend and manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking for this players to show the same spirit for the home fans on Thursday.

Bordeaux have been fighting to pull clear of the relegation zone after a poor start on the domestic front. They are unbeaten in the last three games which includes a well-earned draw in Sweden against FC Sion in the last group match and an encouraging 3-1 home victory over Monaco in Ligue 1.

Liverpool are gradually getting to grips with how to exploit the high pressing tactics of Klopp but at present the system seems to working better away from home. The Reds should have too much firepower for Bordeaux who are expected to come prepared for rearguard action.
